Planning a Trip to Paso Robles?

You’ll want to add these stops to your itinerary!

(insider tips for the perfect itinerary below!)

The Perfect Itinerary for a Day in Paso Robles

Stop #1: Breakfast & Caffeine

You’ll want to fuel up for a busy day sight-seeing, so get up and head to Joe’s Place, Brunch, or Touch of Paso for a nice big breakfast and then stop by Spearhead or H.Cheval for a cup of delicious joe.

Stop #2: Pick Up Lunch

We highly recommend picnicking for lunch when you’re in Paso Robles, as there is lots do to out of the town center. Grab sandwiches and salads from Red Scooter Deli, burritos from Orale Taqueria, or charcuterie items from the General Store Paso.

Stop #3: Lavender Fields Forever!

Take 101 north for a few miles and then head into the hills for a visit to Hambly Lavender Farm. Stroll through the fields and learn all about lavender, harvesting some to take home! Then, grab your picnic lunches and set up at a table while fields of sweet purple blooms fill your vision.

Stop #4: Cheese Tasting & Sheep!

Head southwest on San Marcos Road and enjoy a scenic ride out to Black Market Cheese Company. In a French-style fromagerie, you’ll find artisan cheeses served by sweet souls - and the opportunity to meet their herd of sheep, too!

Stop #5: Wine Tasting!

Before you head back to town, you have to do some wine tasting! Going south on Lake Nacimiento Drive, we recommend stopping at Le Cuvier, a winery that specializes in wine authenticity (and has an incredible food pairing, if you’ve worked up your appetite yet).

Stop #6: Explore Downtown!

Take a stroll in downtown Paso Robles and you’ll find boutique shops with clothing, local goods, and plenty of wine! Check out: Jayde, Copper & Lace, Reminisce, or Spice of Life. If shopping isn’t your thing, a walk downtown is worth it anyway - Paso Robles is known for its charm!

Stop #7: Dinner!

There are tons of options for a good dinner in downtown Paso Robles, depending on your vibe and preferred cuisine. We recommend Buona Tavola for Italian, La Cosecha for South American, Fish Gaucho for Latin, Yanagi’s for Japanese, and Jeffry’s for Barbeque.

(Final) Stop #8: Sensorio Lights!

A trip to Paso Robles isn’t complete without a visit to Bruce Munro’s Field of Lights. It’s an absolutely stunning display of light art that you don’t want to miss. If you can get there before sunset, we highly recommend reserving a terrace seat to watch the sun go down and the sea of lights turn on.
